READ THE STREAMSI’m Colby — a growth marketer based in Vineyard, Utah, a dad to Jaxon (20, at UCLA) and to Kora, my puppy co-pilot.
My road here wasn’t a straight line. I started in sales at Best Buy, managed at Walgreens, worked produce at Walmart, did case management, then found SEO at Boostability and Webtek. That turned into paid media and growth work — today I run ads for Smile Systems, where booked consultations, not clicks, are the number that matters.
The other half of the story is the personal one this site is for. I put the drink down about six years ago, in August 2020. Getting sober didn’t make life easy — it just meant I got to actually be here for all of it, the best days and the hardest ones.
In June 2026 I lost my little brother Marques, a week before what would have been his 40th birthday. There are days that divide a life into before and after. That was one. And right in that same stretch, Kora walked in — June 28, 2026. She strengthened my foundation when I needed it most. This site holds both halves: the trail journal, the notebook, and the work. It’s built in public, and it’s always a work in progress.
Marketing intelligence and funnel diagnosis. Explicitly not management: I don't run your ads or your team. The audit traces the whole path from first click to booked revenue and shows where it leaks, what the numbers actually say, and what to fix first.
Good stories don't always start with a plan.
Sometimes they start with a trail.
